The Minister of Health, H.E. Fahad Abdurrahman AlJalajel, has concluded a successful official visit to the French Republic, which included key engagements in Paris and Lyon.
The visit featured the signing of multiple memoranda of understanding and high-level meetings with French ministers and senior officials, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector.
In Lyon, Minister AlJalajel met with Dr. Elisabete Weiderpass, Director of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), where discussions focused on advancing joint efforts in cancer research, health innovation, and global health initiatives. The delegation reviewed IARC's pioneering programs and explored avenues for scientific and technological collaboration to address cancer-related health challenges.
The Minister also visited the WHO Academy, the World Health Organization's global training platform, where he and his accompanying delegation engaged in dialogue around future-ready healthcare workforce development.
Spanning three days, the visit reflected the shared commitment of Saudi Arabia and France to enhance healthcare quality, drive innovation, and promote sustainable health solutions for their citizens.
In addition to official meetings, the visit included sessions with prominent healthcare leaders and representatives from the French business community, further underscoring the strategic nature of the partnership between the two nations.
